On Tuesday, 21 April 2026 we will publish our 500th episode. Reaching 500 episodes is no small feat. Given that the average startup podcast fails after just seven episodes, we are incredibly proud to have reached this milestone. Since our launch in 2017, we have endured website shutdowns and migrations, government shutdowns, and evolving social media policies—yet we remain more committed than ever to our mission.
Our Editorial Foundation
Rather than recording a self-congratulatory episode, we wanted to reflect on the core pillars that have guided us from the start:
- Support the educational mission of the U.S. Army War College (USAWC).
- Provide an outlet for the critical work of students and faculty.
- Advance the reputation of USAWC as a premier institution for national security thought.
The Power of Volunteers
This achievement is a testament to our team. 95% of our workforce is comprised of volunteers who donate their time and expertise because they believe in the value of this dialogue. We also owe a debt of gratitude to the Army War College Foundation for their unwavering support, and to the USAWC leadership for their continued trust and confidence in our platform.
Celebrating the Best of ABP
To mark this occasion, we are doing something special. Throughout this week, we will re-release the personal favorite episodes of each of our hosts, highlighting some of the most impactful content we’ve produced over the years.
To Our Listeners
Most importantly, we wouldn’t be here without you. Your loyalty and engagement have turned a project into a community. We aren’t quitting anytime soon. Here’s to the next 500 episodes.
