The United States has been in favor of a more autonomous Europe ever since the end of WWII. But it’s possible that there have been a few mixed messages throughout the years. A BETTER PEACE welcomes Robert Gleckler and Joel Hillison to the studio to examine just what it is the U.S. means when it speaks of EU strategic autonomy, how that message has evolved and how the European governments have responded to the ongoing conversation. WAR ROOM Managing Editor Buck Haberichter joins the guests in their discussion.

SO IT WASN’T JUST THE STRATEGIC ENVIRONMENT THAT ENABLED THIS BUT ALSO THE PERSONALITIES SEEMED TO BE RIGHT

  1. Since the European voting public wishes to avoid a war and wishes to avoid spending to prevent a war, their governments will seek to position themselves so that they can remain neutral. The Europeans don’t want to pay for the armed forces to deter Russian aggression against East European nations. Europeans don’t want to pay for a navy to stop Iran harming oil tankers bringing oil to Europe. Europeans don’t want to pay for the armed forces which could help America deter the People’s Republic of China.

Europeans don’t want to rely on American weapons because we could refuse to sell weapons and spare parts to them.

When the Europeans plan to build their own weapons this frees them up to remain neutral and to refuse to support America against the People’s Republic of China. They will have the weapons systems to protect themselves from less serious threats. They assume a bigger threat from Russia would never hurt them. Some may think that rather than fight the Russians, they will surrender.

  2. Prof. William G. Braun, III
    says:
Leaving basic assumptions such as the American money supply is controlled by the Rothschilds and Rockefellers, and our entire political system has been corrupted leaves these views and assumptions worthless. So why not just declare Joel Hillison’s views are from a Freemasonry perspective and that’s what allowed his military career to promote him up thru the ranks. Would be the prudent thing to declare that his views are based on attempting to deceive the public to avoid the charge of treason being declared.
